About
About Me
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Texas, who has been serving individuals, families, couples and children in a therapeutic capacity for almost 10 years. I graduated from Texas Tech University suma cum laude with a bachelor degree in Human Development and Family Studies as well as a minor in Psychology. Then, I went on to earn my Masters Degree, as well as my Doctorate Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech. During my time as a Masters and Doctoral student, I taught college courses over ethics and communication, which corresponds well in my work with clients today.
I began private practice soon after my doctoral graduation in the Dallas area in 2016. Prior to that, I interned and worked to gain various degrees of experience in the therapy field. I worked as a clinical intern at the Family Therapy Clinic on the Texas Tech campus, where I gained experience working with couples, individuals and families. I was also employed at the Children’s Advocacy Center of South Plains, where I gained therapeutic knowledge working with children and adolescents dealing with various degrees of abuse and trauma. I was also employed through the Employees Assistance Program for several years, where my experience grew in various areas, including job and relational stressors, anxiety, depression and overall conflict management.
I was born and raised a Dallas girl, who grew up in the Coppell area. I now reside in Plano, Texas with my husband, 3-year-old son and our black lab, Rascal. Often times I am asked why I became a therapist and why I continue to do what I do. The answer for me is simple: I love people and I love my job. I love watching the growth and the potential that each and every one of us have already inside us. I believe wholeheartedly that people can change, because I have seen it over and over again. I believe that change is constantly surrounding us, whether we realize it or not. I would love to help facilitate changes as you see fit for your own life, by instilling hope and strength into your everyday life and relationships. As for many other issues in life that cannot be controlled,
I would strive to guide you on the path of acceptance.
